What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless gas that you can't detect with the naked eye. It it caused by the uranium in soil decaying. Radon becomes contained inside of spaces like homes, offices, and daycares or schools by seeping in through small cracks in the foundation or other outside openings. Breathing this air in for extended periods of time can cause serious health concerns, like lung cancer.

Our Testing Process

At Radon Runner, we follow a thorough testing process to ensure the safety of your home. Our technicians are all certified radon professionals. In Kansas, the KDHE requires radon professionals to go through extensive testing to maintain their certifications.

On the day of your testing, our technician will determine the location of the testing monitor. It is placed in the lowest livable area of your home. We use state-of-the-art testing monitors that take readings every hour for 48 hours minimum. The readings are then averaged out, and the average is your Radon level. The EPA recommends having any home/office/school that has over a 4.0 pCi/L mitigated. Based on the results of your test, we can put you in touch with a radon mitigation expert who can help make sure your property is safe.
